It's always really crazy for me to see posts with all these summer vacations during the months of (July, August + September) while I'm over here in winter in Argentina. I know it's crazy, but we all learned it how the earth tilts on its axis. How while there's summer in the USA, the southern part of the equator is in winter.
We all learn it, and then when someone we know lives there.. it blows our mind. My nieces and nephews, still sometimes don't get how their Tia Lili can be wearing scarfs while they are basking in the sun and going to the park pool. Side note, Tia = Aunt, in Spanish.
I'm always really happy to write. But when I begin to look back and see what God has done, and see how God is moving and doing great things... well let's just say that God leaves me speechless! Great things God has done, and will continue to do through in Argentina, in South America and also through me.
JULY || This month was filled with tons of administrative duties, but the best part of the month was to be able to be part of the South American Missionary Retreat. This is where all the missionaries that are serving in South America, come together for a time of relaxation, reflection and training. This was my first missionary retreat, it was beautiful!
And more than anything we laughed together! It's always really great to hear stories from them, and learn from them. Some of the missionary have been on the South America field for more than 15 years!
We had fun, doing a little dress up and going back in Church History. Remembering the story of the Church of the Nazarene here in South America, and the wonderful leaders and missionary that we have had that have wholehearted given their lives for the sake of the Kingdom. Retelling the story is beautiful!
Although it rained for most of the day, it made the adventure even more worthwhile. Plus, I love the rain! As I get to experience more and more of Argentina's natural beautiful, I fall in love with it more and more. Not only does this country have delicious empanadas and meat, they have some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes!
I will have to make sure to come back to this place in the future! I know I keep saying it, but its cause I want you to know how extraordinary it is!!
Will you join me today in praying for the missionaries in South America, that God will continue to be our source of strength and joy in everything that we do. That God would guide us, grant us wisdom and grace as we serve His people.
Grace and Peace,
